Our Party

Who Are We?
The Republican Party of Galveston, Texas is composed of folks who come from all manner of backgrounds, beliefs and age groups. However, we have many things in common. GOP Pledge to America - (this is a partial list, see our Party Platform for a more extensive list):

We believe in limiting the power of the Federal Government and we are concerned that the current administration in Washington and the Majority's leadership in Congress is more interested in controlling the lives of our country's citizens than it is in focusing on the responsibilities given to it in the Constitution. We believe the saying "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely!"

We are very concerned with the ever expanding debt adopted by the Congress and signed into law by the President.

We support lawful immigration to our country. We oppose providing medical benefits, welfare, and other social programs to those who emigrate illegally because doing so serves as an enticement to break our laws.

We support efforts to restore the integrity of our elective process including, but not limited to, requiring a valid photo identification for those desiring to vote.

We support the definition of marriage as a God–ordained, legal and moral commitment
only between a natural man and a natural woman, which is the foundational unit of a healthy society, and we oppose the assault on marriage by judicial activists.

We believe all innocent human life must be respected and safeguarded from fertilization to natural death; therefore, the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed.

We believe that parental rights and responsibilities are inherent and protected by the United States Constitution. Local, state, or federal laws, regulations, or policies shall not be enacted that limit parental rights in the rearing of both biological and adopted children.

We support efforts to continue to reduce the number of welfare recipients in Texas by enacting tough welfare reforms; denying benefits to illegal aliens, and encouraging partnerships with faith based institutions, community and business organizations to assist individuals in need.

We urge the Congress to defund, repeal, and reject the national healthcare takeover, also known as “ObamaCare” or any similar legislation.
